Work is finally about to start on improvements to the road through the centre of Torrox Pueblo between La Rabitilla and La Granja.
The project, jointly financed by the Junta de Andalucía (€1.3 million) and the Council (€427,000), was scheduled to start in October but was delayed due to probelms encountered with several landowners along the route.
Work will begin next week and the total completion period has been set at one year, although the project will be carried out in phases in order to minimise the disruption to local residents.
The project includes the construction of new pavements, renewal of lighting, sanitation and electrical systems and general landscaping of the area.
