Nerja Residents Day 2011

Nerja Residents DayNerja Residents Day 2011 will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, in Plaza de España (above the Municipal Parking behind the Town Hall). In the event of rain, the event will be posponed until the following Sunday.

The event is open to the public from 12:00 to 19:00, with the various stands being open from 12:00 to 17:00 and the stage and bars a little longer.

For those wishing to participate, these are the various rules and regulations laid down by the Town Hall.

Setting up time is from 09:00 to 12:00.

Association members can only enter the stands area with a pass and each association will be allocated 6 passes. If more are needed, you can ask for them. The passes will be provided a few days before Residents Day at the Town Hall Foreigners Department (ground floor). The passes must be returned at the end of the day.

Stands

Each stand will have a gazebo tent of 3m x 3m with two plastic raffia walls. A new tent will cost approximately €40 and the Town Hall can reserve them and collect them for everybody.

It is up to the various associations or groups to check that their tent is in good conditions, not rusty or mouldy. If a new tent is needed, contact the Foreigners Department before the end of February.

Associations or groups should also check that the association name on the top part of the tent is fully attached and readable. If you need a new name sign, contact the Foreigners Department before the end of February.

Each association is responsible for setting up their own tent, so it is advisable to bring at least a screwdriver. Posters and other promotional materials can be fixed on the side walls with sticky tape or blue tack.

The Town Hall will provide each stand with:

  • A table measuring 1.80m x 0.80m and a tablecloth to cover the table.
  • 4 chairs.
  • The name of the association on a sticky roll to put on the upper frill of the tent (for new associations and upon request).
  • 4 cement bases in the corners to fix the poles of the tent.
  • Ropes and tie racks to fix the tent.

General Rules

  • The selling of articles relating to the association is permitted but it cannot take up the whole of the stand.
  • The tasting of food and drinks is not permitted in the stands.
  • Raffles are permitted in the stands.
  • Stands cannot have music or any device producing noise.
  • No smoking inside the stands and the bars.
  • It is not permitted to place boxes, objects or junk around the stand occupying communal areas or next to other stands.

Each association will only give out promotional material in their own stand. The handing out of propaganda is not permitted in any other place. It is not permitted to have persons disguised, such as in fancy dress, wandering around with promotional material.

Each Association will be allotted one parking space in the Municipal Car Park valid for one car. You cannot use this ticket to enter and exit several cars. You can collect the ticket at the Foreigners Department a few days before Residents Day.

Bars

All associations wishing to operate a bar must also have a stand.

The Town Hall will provide bars with:

  • 2 tables of 1.80m x 0.80m and 2 blue tablecloths to cover the tables. Bars situated on the sides will have another side table.
  • 4 chairs.
  • The name of the association on a sticky roll to put on the upper frill of the tent (for new associations and upon request).
  • Water and electricity points.
  • 4 cement bases in the corners to fix the poles of the tent.
  • Ropes and tie racks to fix the tent.
  • 2 communal ice freezers.
  • 50 sets of tables and chairs (1 set = 1 table and 4 chairs) for the main square with white paper tablecloths and grips.

The ice company ‘Hielos Glaciar’ will bring the ice and the freezers during the morning. Each ice bar will cost €3.50. Ice cubes can be provided (4 packets of 2kg each) at the price of €3.50.

It is suggested that each association buys 1 ice bar and 4 packets of ice, total cost €7, to be paid to the Foreigners Department a few days before Residents Day.

Each association must bring several big buckets to put the ice with water to cool the drinks.

If more ice is required during the event, Hielos Glaciar will provide it: Contact number is 625 626 696.

Each bar will be responsible for cleaning 7 tables of the square during all day.

Each bar will have one parking space in the lorry parking beside the Town Hall. Only those vehicles with a parking pass displayed on the windscreen will gain access to the reserved parking area.

These passes should be collected a few days before Residents Day at the Foreigners Department (ground floor of the Town Hall).
