The majority of Spanish tourists opted not to stay in hotels, but rather in second homes, holiday apartments or simply just to visit the area.

As for hotel stays, the British came in second with 41.21% of total guests, followed by the Irish with 39.20%, and the Germans with 8.61%. These made up the majority of guests.

The most popular tourist attractions were Nerja Cave and the beaches, along with various entertainment activities, especially those related to the festival of San Juan.
