Fresco Film Services, under direction of Sony will record a total of 10 episodes of this new season of “Snatch”. Filming will take place in Nerja at the Giner de los Ríos Centre, at the Cafetería Plaza Cavana, at the Balcón de Europa and at La Alberquilla Beach. Fresco productions have a number of popular features under their belt, such as the recording in Spain of “Game of Thrones.”

Although very loosely based on Guy Ritchie’s movie from 2000 with the same name, the Snatch television series has proven so popular for Sony that they’ve decided to make a second season. As well as starring Rupert Grint ( Harry Potter), Snatch season II is said to star Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible 2).

The Councillor for Tourism, Patricia Gutiérrez, is very pleased that the film company has chosen Nerja instead as other locations such as the Caribbean or Catalonia. “There is no doubt that it is excellent news that companies in this sector opt for Nerja as a setting for their recordings. It will help us to strengthen our tourist image beyond our borders “, who maintains that this international production” will introduce people from all over the world to Nerja, through their screens. Let’s hope it serves as an invitation to come and visit”, he pointed out.
