New Mega Yacht Marina planned for Malaga

Bids are now being accepted for a mega-yacht marina to be built at the Marques de Guadiaro dock in Malaga’s port.

Interested investors have three months to put their proposals forward with a maximum allowed bid fixed at 9.5 million euros.

The new marina will comprise a 770-metre pier with mooring facilities for up to 40 vessels that range from 30 to 100 metres in length.

The idea for the new marina comes after the announcement that the luxury Four Seasons hotel chain plans to open a high-end resort in Marbella.

Occupying 700 metres of Marbella’s famous beach front, the hotel is intended to bring more glamour to the tourist hotspot following recent reports of holidaymakers behaving badly.

Built along the lines of Four Seasons hotels in Miami and Dubai the new resort will include private residences as well as traditional hotel rooms. The hotel will also feature internationally-renowned restaurants

The Four Seasons Marbella will be the second of the American company’s hotels in Spain after the Centro Canalejas in Madrid and is planned to open its doors in 2020.
