Regional government to control Nerja’s new wells

The regional government is ready to take over three new wells located in the upper Rio Chillar near the town of Nerja.

Last year alone the authorities invested 3 million euros in the wells to ensure that the people of Nerja had adequate drinking water.
The new wells are capable of generating up to seven hectares of water per year and can be used when the La Viñuela reservoir is at a low level. Currently, the reservoir is at around 36% of its capacity.
This is great news for the people of Nerja who are now assured natural drinking water when the reservoir cannot cope during times of drought.

I won’t hold my breath, If the progress with the sewage system is anything to go by one has to assume that civil engineering projects are not local governments forte.
