Sitting near the fountain with a newspaper, a coffee and some toast and watching people going about their daily business is a lovely way to pass the time. In the evenings it's good to sit there and have a drink while the local elderly people sit around the fountain or on the benches chatting and just enjoying each other's company or watching little children play.
