Good place for a Sunday roast or some prime Irish beef steaks. There is a small, street terrace for those sunny days.

I like The Coach and Horses- it’s a friendly and unpretentious place to visit. Even though we love Nerja for its typically Spanish feel, it’s good to have the occasional dose of Englishness! We’ve enjoyed our visits to the Coach & Horses and will return this year.

I think some of these reviews are out of order, me and my family have been visiting the coach for 25 years and have never been let down by the food. The atmosphere is fantasic and friendly, the steak and kidney pie is to die for, and also the beef stir-fry. Also the friday nights with fish and chips, you wont find better, in my opinion. People should give it a try.

perhaps if you actually took the time to get to know the staff/owners, you would change your opinion. wouldn’t go as far to call it ‘a morgue’ bit over the top don’t you think?

My wife and I have been visiting the Coach and Horses for over 10 years and the owners/staff are among the friendliest I have encountered in Nerja (especially Juan!!) and we have been holidaying at Nerja for over 20 years. The Bacardi measures are great!!
SOY INGLES, Y CATHEY Y JUAN SON EL MEJOR. FRIENDLY BAR,FRIENDLY STAFF AND GOOD FOOD. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. GET TO KNOW THEM; THEY ARE TWO OF THE NICEST PEOPLE IN NERJA. I HAVE SPENT MANY HAPPY EVENINGS IN THE COACH & HORSES IN THEIR COMPANY AND SO HAVE MANY OTHER TOURISTS WHO RETURN TIME AND TIME AGAIN. ALSO PRACTICE YOUR SPANISH WITH JUAN,HE IS GREAT FUN TO TALK TO. IT IS LIKE ANYTHING IN LIFE,IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT……… ENJOY NERJA, IT IS A GREAT PLACE. ADIOS MIS AMIGOS.
I agree they are very nice people, I should know ,I worked there for 2 years plus. I imagine those of “the morgue” comment are Tutti Frutti Square types and the friendly atmostphere in the C and H is better without them. I advise families and couples to visit and judge for themselves, get to know the owners and you will return many times.
