We have been visiting Nerja for many years now and in that time have also visited many bars, cafes and restaurants! We only actually started using The Mediterraneo about four years ago, but in that time it has become our firm favourite. The staff and Patron, Francisco, are very friendly and accommodating. This is not the case in all of Nerja’s bars and cafes. Some can be very cliquey and not at all welcoming to ‘outsiders’. I do think that some of them look upon visitors as an unavoidable, but needed, intrusion into their everyday lives. As said, that is not the case with The Mediterraneo, here you are treated with courtesy and respect, almost as one of the family. I would suggest that in the high season you get there early and keep hold of your seats and table! It can get very busy at peak times. However, no matter how busy they are the service is still excellent. The drinks are reasonably priced, as is the food menu and although the choice of food may seem a tad basic, compared to out and out restaurants, it is cooked and served to a very high standard. I can personally recommend the lamb chops served with fresh salad and french fries. My wifes favourite is the freshly grilled sardines.
Regular visits to the Mediterraneo will ensure that you are recognised immediately and given, almost, preferential treatment. It always feels nice when the staff remember your names and your drinks!
All in all this is a great bar, cafe where you can relax with a drink and watch the rest of Nerja walking by.

My wife and I have been coming to Nerja for 15 years and in that time we have never been able to get a table at the Mediterraneo….surely that says something about its popularity and the quality of service it provides. Just a thought .

I think that is a good cafeteria, the waiters are very helpful and good people with customers and el servicio de comida rapido y bueno.The people who speak ill of them are owners and beside me rather envious seems to serve well criticize the Mediterranean Cafe. Generally recommend, besides having good views’re having a great time with the waiters.
