On the left as you go down the steps to Calahonda beach was this nice (and I am assuming, as it looks a lot like one to me) Bird of Paradise plant, presumably there by the whim of nature rather than being actually planted there. Looks very much of a new growth.
Quite an unusual head on one of the shoots of the plant, a very furry thing a bit like a gooseberry in some ways.
Heading along the shoreline, parallel to the old, long closed, Paseo de los Carabineros walkway, one or two bits worthy of interest.
First up, a clump of moss which has gathered – if moss actually gathers – at a point where a fair amount of water always drips down through and over the overhanging rocks.
It has always been wet at this point for as long as I can remember.
The rocks are home to quite a few plants of different types.
You can always find prickly pear cacti hanging, seemingly precariously, over the cliff face or even covering a whole rock wall.
They are quite colourful when they are in bloom. Many of these were budding so it shouldn’t be long before the flowers come out to play.
Loads of fig trees along the rocky area.
As well as some nice wild flowers. No idea what they are, yet, but they look nice.
The low-lying cacti were full of flowers.
