The Biblioteca Publica Municipal Salvador Rueda (Public Library) is located behind the Sala Mercada in Plaza de la Ermita, calle San Miguel in Nerja. That’s where the taxi rank is located.
It is free to join, all you have to do is fill in a form and provide a copy of your DNI, residence card or passport. The library currently has around 20,000 books and 300 videos/dvd’s.
The library is part of the Red de Bibliotecas Publicas de Andalucía (Andalucían Network of Public Libraries), which means that members then have access to all the public libraries throughout Andalucía.
The services on offer at the Nerja Public Library include:
- Reading room.
- Lending library for both books and dvd’s.
- Newspapers and magazines
- Computer terminals for use by library members
- Wifi zone for those with laptops
- Internet reservation of books and dvd’s
Opening times are: Monday to Friday 10:00 – 14:00 and 17:00 – 20:00
