There are four service/petrol stations in Nerja.

AGLA Garage

The AGLA garage is located on avenida de Pescia, just past Plaza Cantarero (Orange Square) and in between the cemetery and the Local Police station.

 

Although quite a small shop area, it does carry a reasonable number of ‘emergency’ items, such as coffee, bread, sugar and other foodstuffs which is always handy to know. You will, of course, pay slightly more than in a regular supermarket, but in an emergency….

When approaching from the western end of town, from calle San Miguel or the N-340 via Plaza Cantarero, do not be tempted just to signal left and turn into the garage. This is not a legal manoeuvre and is frowned upon by the local constabulary and is quite likely to get you a ticket.

Continue a few more metres to the Parador roundabout and then approach the garage from the east, no great inconvenience and potentially far less painful on the wallet.

El Arco

El Arco is a relatively new service station on the Frigiliana road, km 0.3 to be exact, just outside the town itself.

It has a large forecourt and a large shop carrying all sorts of goodies, both for people and vehicles.

After topping up at El Arco, if you are returning to Nerja town you will have to continue up the road for a very short distance and then use the roundabout to double back. Although the road, which is four lane, has no central barrier, turning left out of the garage is not permitted.

Repsol YPF

The Repsol garage is located on the N-340, just outside the town as you head for Torrox Costa. If approaching from Torrox Costa, you will need to continue a short distance to the roundabout and double back.

This is another large, modern facility complete with carwash and a well-stocked shop area.

Axarquia

A new service station near the roundabout on the Frigiliana Road (MA-5105). It has a large shop and also a restaurant/cafeteria attached.
