Somewhat disturbing to hear, although unconfirmed, that one local business was handed a €3,000 fine for trying to stay open during renovations. They were apparently ‘ordered’ to close while work was carried out in front of their premises.
Businesses are struggling and it is a little incongruous that projects aimed at ‘stimulating the local economy’ result in someone being ordered to close and, therefore, actually lose money.

They must be learning from McBroon!!
There have never been so many fines being handed out. Tax fines, car fines, house fines – I personally know three people who have been fined a total of over 10.000 euros in the past week for various things. Spain is really desperate to raise funds.
