The Council has announced that the clean-up of the rio Chillar as far as the border with Frigiliana is almost complete and in a few days they will begin on the rio Seco.
The responsibility for cleaning the lower part of the rio Chillar rests with the Council, but the upper stretch and the whole of the rio Seco is the responsibility of the Junta de Andalucia. However, requests to the regional authority to assume their responsibilities have constantly fallen upon deaf ears.
The Council intends to bill the Junta de Andalucia for the cleaning, which amounts to almost €15,000.
