In 2014, a total of 169,608 kilos of small containers were collected in Nerja as part of the recycling programme, a 14% increase on the previous year.
Nerja also has recycling containers for batteries, oils, clothing and footwear and it is planned to increase the number of containers.
In addition, Nerja has been chosen as the setting for an advertising campaign to promote recycling, with recording taking place on Calahonda beach and the Balcón de Europa.
