New lighting for Torrox Pueblo

Torrox Council is set to replace over 400 lamps in the town to improve lighting levels, adapt to new regulations and reduce power consumption.

Technicians have noted 402 lamps in six areas of the Pueblo which need to be replaced. The new lamps will be 102.88 lumen/W with a total power of 30W, replacing the existing 92W mercury vapour streetlights in the centre of the town.

This will be a reduction of almost 25KW per hour and a reduction of CO2 emissions 70.85 tons per year.

Tyhe project is set to cost €19,698 but will reportedly generate savings of €15,672.68 on electricity bills.
