The registration period is now open for those wishing to participate in the Day of the Cross celebration to be held in Nerja on May 3rd.
Registration can be made at the Concejalía de Tradiciones Populares, calle Cristo 12, ist floor, on weekdays from 10:00 to 14:00. The deadline for entries is April 20th 2015.
As usual there will be prizes for the ‘best cross’ (€500, €350 and €200), best ‘arropia’ (€200, €100 and €75) and ‘best children’s cross’ (€200, €100 and €80).
There will be financial assistance for those participating in the competition but you need to be ‘in it to win it’, so if your cross is not officially registered then it won’t be visited by the jury and won’t be eligible for a subsidy.
A map will be produced showing the location of all the registered crosses.
