Inocencia Quintero, Councillor for Residents reported that on this Saturday, May 9th, Residents Day would take place at Plaza de los Cangrejos. This day coincides with the celebration of Europe Day. Thus, at noon, there will be the raising of the European flag, as the Municipal Music Band interprets the Ode to Joy. The raising of the flag will take place near the Fuente de Europa, which has been relocated to the Plaza de los Cangrejos.The events will continue with a concert by the Municipal Band, and later there will be a tribute to foreign residents who work for the community.
Afterwards, there will be several musical performances, both from local artists and foreign residents’ groups. Inocencia Quintero has stressed the importance of the foreign residents in the town of Nerja, accounting for thirty percent of the population.
