The singer José Antonio Conejo Melgarejo, ‘Niño Chaparro’, from Málaga, was proclaimed the winner of the III Young Voices of Flamenco competition held in Plaza del Olvido on Saturday evening.
José Antonio Conejo Melgarejo, who was also a participant in last year’s contest, collected the first prize of €1,000.
Collecting €300 for a ‘special mention’ at this year’s event was Alfonso León Carvajal, from Adamúz in Córdoba. The singer has also previously won the 1st Prize in the Peña Flamenca Niño del Museo held in Adamúz and 1st Prize in the Concurso Flamenco Ciudad de Montoro.
