The Council is taking steps to restore two large decorative amphoras, gifts from the director of the TV series Verano Azul, Antonio Mercero, and actor Antonio Ferrandis, which used to adorn the Balcón de Europa.
The two vases in question were removed from the Balcón de Europa in 2007 due to works being carried out in the area. They were taken to the Municipal Plant Nursery where they suffered deterioration. They were then moved to the Municipal Storage facility in calle Granada and basically forgotten about, until now.
One of the vases has a large crack in it but the Council is hoping that both can be restored to their former glory. They will then once more go on display on the streets of Nerja, although the location has yet to be decided.
