As from today, Nerja has a new Tourist Office. It is located on the ground floor of the Town Hall building in calle Carmen and replaces the old ‘intimate’ (tiny) office in calle Puerta del Mar. The inauguration of these new premises took place today at 13:30, part of the Dia de Turista celebrations, and we were there with the camera. more »

The GB gold tally in the Beijing Olympics currently stands at 19, an excellent achievement by any standard, and there have been some memorable performances.
However, the highest number of gold medals ever achieved by Great Britain during a Summer Olympics, and a total which is unlikely ever to be surpassed, is a staggering 56! more »

Under new Nerja municipal ordinances, businesses in areas such as avenida Mediterráneo and calle Antonio Millón are supposed to be removing street ‘furniture’ from what are, in fact, car parking spaces. With parking in Nerja at a premium and the new underground car park at Parque Verano Azul suffering incessant delays, the objective is to free-up a few extra spaces. So how is it going?

Warm in the sun, cool out in the gusting wind and cold in the shade, it was time to pop down to Burriana beach, Nerja, and see how all the sand shifting and tree planting went.

A cold, windy day yesterday, although that didn’t stop many visitors from donning their shorts. Along with a thick jacket! With talk of potential damage to the beaches, and Torrecilla beach in Nerja always one to suffer, the best way to find out the state of play was to head down there with the camera.
