Derek at the Nerja Book Centre was celebrating the 25th anniversary of the shop today, no mean achievement. Wine and tapas – courtesy of the Chanquete Bar – were available throughout the day and there was a raffle with the money collected going to Cudeca cancer care. Well done mate, and here’s to the next 25 years!!
It was also the day that ‘Breine’ (Antonio Ortega) opened the doors of the ‘Chiringuito El Breine’ on Playazo beach. Breine, a very well known local chef (and character), has taken over the old ‘Colombia’ bar which closed down a few weeks ago. He’s kept the boats, though. Free beer and paella was the order of the day
