Spanish Justice Minister Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón has announced his resignation from his ministerial position and from politics altogether following the decision to shelve his controversial changes to abortion legislation.

The new Justice Minister is Francisco Caamaño Domínguez, and he will take up his post as from 13:00 on Wednesday February 25th. Francisco Caamaño Domínguez is currently the Secretary of State for Relations, a post he has held since 2004.
