ARRESTS FOR CRIMES AGAINST THE RIGHTS OF WORKERS

Two businessmen in El Ejido and another in Novelda (Alicante) have been arrested and charged with crimes against the rights of workers and foreign nationals.

The three businessmen employed immigrant workers by means of forged documents or through identity theft.

In addition, the National Police have detained a further 21 people in El Ejido and Torrevieja, mostly Chinese and Brazilian nationals, in connection with various violations of the laws regarding foreigners. The police investigation was a joint operation between Almería and Alicante and in addition to the arrests, the police seized various forged documents including NIE certificates and driving licenses.
