The Nerja Council has extended the deadline for paying the local Impuesto de Bienes Inmuebles (IBI) tax.
The original deadline for payment of the IBI tax was September 5th, but this has now been extended to November 17th.
The current economic crisis and the fact that many local residents will be spending more during the summer holiday period led the Council to extend the deadline in order to help prevent families getting into financial difficulties.
The IBI rate in Nerja is one of the lowest on the coast.
