The Nerja Councillor for Tourism, José Miguel García Jimena, is presenting a motion at the next plenary session to request the Tourist Board to establish its regional headquarters in the town.
The idea was passed at the ordinary Council session, the PP using its absolute majority, but now needs to be debated in the next full plenary session.
The Councillor argues that Nerja has proved itself to be the leading resort as far as tourism in the Axarquia is concerned and would like to see the Tourist Board establish a regional headquarters in the town, possibly on the Balcón de Europa.
