Nerja Council has so far approved 19 of the 28 projects submitted under the Plan Zapatero and, in accordance with the requirements of the plan, these will be put out to tender shortly.
Those projects already approved include phases three and four of the calle Carabeo works, budgeted at €650,000. The IU supported the approval, although with reservations, but the PSOE abstained.
The Councillor for Infrastructure, José Alberto Tomé (PP), said he couldn’t understand why the Socialist PSOE abstained as the Plan Zapatero is, of course, a Socialist initiative.
The spokesman for the PSOE, Ángel Ramírez, criticised the fact that projects included under the Plan Zapatero were solely those submitted by the Partido Popular without reference to, or discussion with, other parties.
