The brotherhoods in Nerja are dreaming of the day when their new premises will be ready to house their precious religious symbols and statues.
The Council donated the plot of land in calle Puente Viejo free of charge and, so far, the Council, the Nerja Caves Foundation and local businesses have found 50% of the necessary €600,000 funding for the project. So it’s half funded, and it’s also now half finished.
The brotherhoods are now asking the Junta de Andalucía to finance the remaining €300,000 and the hope is that the three storey building will be completed at the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011.
