Around 60 children took part in the first Torneo Infantil y Juvenil de Pesca (Fishing Tournament) on El Playazo beach on Sunday.
The competition was organised by the Fishing Club Playazo in conjunction with the Sports Department of the Nerja Council.
All the participants received trophies and various gifts, the idea being to promote friendship and fun and promote the sport of fishing rather than to engage in a truly competetive event.
After the tournament, the children and their parents were treated to paella.
