Sixty-eight irregular immigrants were rescued on Saturday morning about seven miles west of Tarifa.
On board the small boat were 37 men, 22 women and 9 children, all of North African origin. They were taken to port by members of the Maritime Rescue Service where Red Cross officials were on hand to offer medical assistance.
One of the passengers was subsequently transferred to the Hospital Punta Europa in Algeciras.
