The body of a 31 year old woman was found at her home in calle Bravo Murillo, Madrid, early yesterday evening.
The victim, identified as Consolación G.G., was found at around 17:00 by her brother. He had not heard from his sister for several days and had gone round to check on her. After finding the body, he alerted the police.
Consolación G.G. had suffered several stab wounds to the stomach and neck. The house was orderly and with no signs of a struggle. The murder weapon has so far not been located.
The woman lived alone in the house, although she did have a boyfriend.
The police are trying to establish a motive for the killing and although nothing is being ruled out at the moment, it apparently seems unlikely that this was a case of domestic violence.
