The AEN (Asociación de Empresarios de Nerja – Nerja Business Association) has asked the Council to exercise increased control over catering establishments that are only supposed to be open during the summer months, particularly those run by foreigners.
The AEN wants such seasonal establishments to close at the end of the summer and not open again until the next season starts.
They claim that many fail to pay the suppliers, charge prices below the market rate and offer poor quality of service, all of which are detrimental to other local Nerja businesses.
