The construction of a cycle path on avenida de La Pasionaria in Vélez-Málaga has provoked indignation from the Partido Popular due to the fact that the project removes fifty parking spaces along the road.
The cycle path runs from the Axarquia college to the roundabout with avenida de Segovia. The PP spokesman, Francisco Delgado, described the loss of the desperately need parking spaces as an outrage. He did, however, qualify his remarks by stating that he was not against a cycle lane but that other alternatives should have been sought in order to preserve the parking.
