Nerja Council is considering a request by the Santa María de la Victoria Dicesan Foundation, which runs El Tablazo school, for land upon which to build a new facility.
The Councillor for Education, Angélica Portillo, has made it clear that granting such a request would be on the basis of a land swap with the existing school, located in Las Protegidas, and if the new site is valued above that of the old site, the Foundation would have to pay the difference.
El Tablazo currently has only four Primary classes, but the intention is to extend the facility to cover other levels.
