Harold Camping, the evangelical broadcaster whose prediction that last Saturday would be Judgement Day says he miscalculated and the apocalypse would now happen on October 21st.
Mr Camping apparently felt “terrible” about his mistake, particularly as some followers donated or gave away their entire life savings as the day approached. According to Mr Camping, however, these people will ‘cope’.
If Mr Camping could just provide the names and addresses of these followers, there are a number of tempting, high return inter-bank transfer schemes involving huge sums of money, particularly in Nigeria, that could be offered to ease their financial burden.
Bearing in mind that his previous prediction of the apocalypse for 1994 also failed to materialise, a little caution might have been in order.
