Police in Chiclana de la Frontera have arrested eight people, Rumanian and Spanish nationals, in connection with the distribution of drugs, mainly cocaine.
The drugs network was detected several months ago and since May, police have been monitoring the individual believed to be the head of the network, 44 year old M.G.T.
The drugs were supplied from Madrid and this group then supplied small scale dealers in Chiclana and neighbouring towns. A raid on a villa in Pinar de los Franceses resulted in the seizure of 2.46 kilos of high quality cocaine, 2.1 kilos of hashish, 920 grams of synthetic drugs, 3 cars, a revolver, a pistol, precision scales and €17,930 in cash.
Six of the detainees were remanded in custody, two were released on bail.
