The National Police in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz province, have arrested a 28 year old man on suspicion of sexual assault against a 12 year old girl he met via the internet.
The detainee is a resident of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and he met the girl through a social network and, after gaining her trust, persuaded her to travel by bus to Sanlúcar de Barrameda to meet him.
Once they met, the detainee, identified as D.G.S., then began to touch the girl with the intention of maintaining a sexual relationship with her. The girl managed to escape and reported the incident to her family.
The detainee, who has a criminal record, is being held in custody.
