The Guardia Civil in Mairena del Aljarafe have arrested two Iranian men on charges of falsifying documents, illegal residence and road traffic violations.
Guardia Civil officers manning a routine control point on the road between Palomares del Río and Mairena del Aljarafe spotted what they decided was a ‘suspicious’ vehicle. The two men in the car produced Iranian passports but were very nervous and were asked for further documentation. An inspection of the documentation led to the suspicion that it was counterfeit and they were taken to the police station.
It turned out that one of the men had at least three separate identities and the pair had a long history of offences including thefts, robberies, scams and impersonating police officers in order to rob cars belonging to foreigners.
The dynamic duo were arrested and charged.
