Officers from the Central Information Unit of the Guardia Civil in Madrid have arrested 12 people in Almeria in connection with the illegal arms trade, part of Operation ‘Troya’ being carried out in a number of provinces in Spain.
Around fifty officers, supported by members of the Rural Security Group from Sevilla, raided ten locations in El Ejido, Huércal and Almeria city and in addition to the arrests seized over fifty weapons, mostly new.
The operation is still ongoing in a number of provinces.
