More about tourism in Andalucia in 2011

The number crunchers are still busy with the figures for last year, this time telling us that revenue from tourism in Andalucia was €15,400 million, up 0.8% on 2010 thanks to the influx of almost 22 million visitors during the year.

Domestic tourism remained virtually unchanged, up just 0.2% on the previous year. Visitors spent an average of €60.35 per day and stayed for an average of nine days, making a total of €544 per person per stay.

The British market recovered and other notable increases were in the number of Belgian visitors, up 15.3%, Portuguese, up 12.9%, French, up 12.7% and Italian, up 11.7%. On the other hand, the number of German visitors fell by 2.8% to give the perfect excuse for a junket to the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) to be held in Berlin from March 7th to 11th.

Andalucia is the fourth most popular destination is Spain after the Canary Islands, Balearics and Valencia.
