The deadline for bids for the water treatment plant contract was June 21st and there are a total of 14 bids involving 35 companies, several opting to bid as a temporary consortium (UTE).
The next stage of proceedings is scheduled to occur on June 7th, with the opening of the submitted technical documentation. This will occur at the Ministry of Environment.
Subsequently, on September 13th, the economic documentation will be opened and scrutinised. The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, hopes that, circumstances permitting, the bidding process can be completed and the contract awarded by the end of this year.

Hi Rolf,
There is some land set aside next door to the Fuente del Baden urbanisation.
As some people have pointed out, this is way above the town meaning additional costs to run higher spec. pumps
However, a massive plus in my humble opinion.
