The new Plan Prepara – financial assistance of between €400 and €450 per month for unemployed who have exhausted their unemployment benefit or have dependants – comes into effect today, Sunday August 26th.
The financial assistance is available for a six month period and cannot be repeated. Candidates must have actively been seeking work for 30 days prior to making an application for assistance and must not be receiving any other form of subsidy or benefit. This situation must be certified by the local authority. They must also have been registered as unemployed for 12 of the previous 18 months or have dependants.
In addition, to qualify for the assistance the family income must not exceed €481 per month.
The Plan Prepara is retroactive to August 16th 2012.
