The Guardia Civil have accused a 69 year old resident of Bédar, Almeria, of causing the forest fire which led to the evacuation of several towns and destroyed vast swathes of land.
The fire appears to have been caused by sparks from a machine saw while the accused was engaged in cutting a metal container.
The fire is under control now although not extinguished.
