The body of a 9 year old Moroccan boy was pulled from an irrigation pond in El Ejido, Almeria province, on Monday evening.
At around 20:30, the family of the boy alerted the authorities to his disappearance. He had apparently earlier been trying to retrieve a ball from the pond and were afraid he may have gone back to try again.
The lifeless body of the boy was found by Guardia Civil divers at around 23:15.
