On Saturday, members of the rubbish collection service discovered the lower half of the body of a woman in a container in calle Ana de Austria in the Sanchinarro suburb of Madrid.
The body, badly decomposed, was wrapped in a blanket covered in dried blood which in turn was inside a rubbish bag.
Police searched the immediate area for further body parts then, as the rubbish had already been collected in other sectors, attention switched to the rubbish tip in Valdemingómez.
