The 57 year old man found on fire near his burning car in Málaga on Wednesday has died from his injuries. After initial treatment at the Carlos Haya hospital in Málaga he had been transferred to the Hospital Virgen del Rocío.
The man, who had suffered burns to 80% of his body, died at 21:30 on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred at around 18:00 on Wednesday close to the Carlos Haya Hospital in Málaga. The man was found, on fire, near to his burning car. An hour earlier, he had presented himself at the Carlos Haya hospital in a disoriented state.
A homeless man and well known in the area and, as no accelerants were found near the scene of the blaze, one theory being investigated is that this was a suicide.
