Unemployment predicted to rise in Andalucia

Economic Analysts Andalucia, a Unicaja research company, is forecasting a fall in GDP in Andalucia this year of 1.6% with a decrease in activity in all sectors. The situation is expected to be particularly acute in Huelva and Jaén.

GDP in Huelva and Jaén could decline by as much as 2.9%, whereas at the other end of the scale, Málaga is expected to see a fall of 0.7%. The fall in GDP for Spain as a whole is expected to be 1.5%.

The report also predicts that unemployment in Andalucia will rise to 36.5%
