The Mayor has reported that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, has published the bidding process for the drafting of the project to construct a promenade at El Playazo beach.
The budget for drafting the project is €71303.85 and bids have to be in by May 24th. The project implementation period is eleven months.
According to the Mayor, the redevelopment of El Playazo is something the people of Nerja have been demanding for many years.
The promenade will cover around 32,000 square metres and the project will see the actual beach area increased along its entire 1.1 km length.
The Mayor sees this project as a positive first step towards the complete redevelopment of the El Playazo area, with houses, hotels and commercial premises, although there is currently a moratorium in Andalucia on building within 500 metres of the coast.
