Club Nerja de Atletismo-Cueva de Nerja-UMA qualify for the national finals

The male athletics team ‘Division of Honour’ of the Club Nerja de Atletismo-Cueva de Nerja-UMA finished in second place at the athletics meeting held in Sabadell and, as a result, have qualified for the national finals in which eight teams will be competing.

The event was won by Playa de Castellón on 265 points with Nerja close behind in second place.

Individual highlights included a first place for Fabián Bernabé in the 5km walk, second place for Pedro Redondo in the hammer, second place for Pablo Oliva in the 5km walk and second place for the 4×100 relay team of Sánchez-Pérez-Medina -Orduña.

In the women’s Division of Honour (18 years and under) held in Valladolid, Cueva de Nerja-UMA finished in third place behind Valencia and Piélagos.

Individual highlights included a first place for Sara Alonso in the 5km walkn and second places for Desi Valderrama in the 100m hurdles, Marta Casanova in the pole vault, the 4×400 relay team of Blackeman, Hewit, Serrano and Campra and Maribel Pérez in the 400m.
