A Guardia Civil officer is in a very serious condition in the ICU in Granada after being deliberately run over at a checkpoint on the Camino de los Barrotes in Atarfe.
After spotting the police checkpoint, the driver, who had no licence and was in the vehicle with a woman and a child, changed direction.
The driver then accelerated and hit one of the officers, slamming him into a nearby wall. The officer suffered multiple injuries. The driver has been detained.
